Common questions
The AI download is slow or stops
The download is about 600 MB, so use Wi-Fi and make sure your iPhone has free space for it. Keep Clear Gallery open while it downloads. If it stops, open the app again and restart the download.
Indexing is slow or paused
Indexing runs on your iPhone and is fastest with Clear Gallery open on screen; iOS limits how much work apps can do in the background. Your progress is saved, so if you leave, tap the banner when you come back to pick up where you left off.
Clear Gallery can’t see all my photos
Check photo access in Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › Clear Gallery and choose Full Access. With Limited Access, the app only sees the photos you picked.
I deleted a photo by mistake
Open the Photos app and go to Recently Deleted (unlock it with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode). Select the photo and tap Recover. Deleted photos stay there for 30 days.
How do I remove the AI models?
In Clear Gallery, open Settings and tap Delete models. This frees about 600 MB. The models download again the next time you use search, and your photo index is kept.
Does the app need an internet connection?
Only to download the AI models, once. Everything else works offline.
