Pick a face and Clear Gallery gathers every photo that person appears in, so you can review them together. Strict, Normal or Broad matching decides how close a match has to be. Faces are matched on your iPhone after a small extra download of about 6 MB.

An AI model on your iPhone compares what’s in each photo and groups shots that look nearly identical and were taken around the same time. In each set, the highest-resolution photo is kept by default; tap any other photo to keep that one instead, or skip the set.
The Photos app’s Duplicates album looks for copies of the same image, even when one is a different size or format. Clear Gallery also groups separate shots that look almost the same, like several tries at the same photo taken seconds apart, which the Photos app treats as different photos. Using both works well.
Yes, for 30 days. Clear Gallery deletes through iOS, so everything you remove goes to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app first. Recover photos from there, or empty it to free the space right away.
Screenshots are ready as soon as you open the app. Indexing for the AI features takes a few minutes for about 3,000 photos on a recent iPhone, and longer for very large libraries. Keep the app open while it runs: iOS limits how much work apps can do in the background. Your progress is saved if you leave.
The app itself is about 47 MB. The optional AI models are about 600 MB and download once. You can remove them at any time in the app’s Settings with Delete models; your photo index is kept.
If iCloud Photos is turned on, deleting a photo on your iPhone also deletes it from iCloud and your other devices, exactly as when you delete it in the Photos app. Back up anything you’re unsure about first.
